I have booked a trip on the
Truth Aquatics boat,
Vision, from Santa Barbara Harbor to Painted Cave on Santa Cruz Island. The Vision leaves Santa Barbara Harbor at 8:00 a. m. on Saturday, April 16th and arrives back in Santa Barbara Harbor at 4:00 p. m. that afternoon. The cost per person is $90.00 with no additional charge if you bring your own kayak.
Sea conditions permitting, Truth Aquatics will sail the Vision into Painted Cave, supposedly the world's largest sea cave. The Vision will then moor at a nearby cove. Those passengers who have arranged a guide will get a brief orientation in paddling a sit on top kayak and follow the guide back to Painted Cave.
I plan to skip the orientation and explore the cave in my sit inside kayak, bearing numerous lights and cameras.
